About the Company
About the Company
Project Pluralist is a youth focused organization working at the intersection of design and technology to tackle the issues of prejudice, discrimination and hate by cultivating the next generation of pluralist citizens and social innovators.

They are dedicated to cultivate the next generation of pluralist citizens by nurturing traits and skills that enable youth to thrive in our connected and diverse world.

Research Approach
We are trying to target the limitations of the Project Pluralist toolkit and open territory for growth and opportunity via the proposed Project Pluralist app.
Additionally, we are trying to examine students’ learning behaviors and best practices to create engaging and useful content via app design.
Strategy
Our research strategy was to observe competitors as well as observe the multiple users which will be interacting with the app. The competitors were e-learning apps and like-minded organizations. The multiple app users would be parent, educators, and most importantly the students.

C & C Analysis

We decided to create a compare and contrast analysis in order to improve and decipher between the best features and methods in different learning apps such as:

Progress Tracking
-
The ability to keep track of progress and performance.
Variety of Learning Methods
-
Lessons using both audio and visual learning.
Interactive/Global Ranking System
-
Global leadership board prompts you to try and stay at top of board
Reward System
-
Usage of badges for interaction, celebratory animations.

Personas

Student Problem
Tyler needs a way to voice her passion for social justice outside of the classroom because she wants to foster her own impact on the world.
Teacher Problem
Cady needs a way to facilitate and track students’ growth in empathy outside of classroom activities because she is limited by digital constraints and time.
Parent Problem
Pam needs a window into her kids’ processes of self-education because she wants to nurture their growth in a hands-off way.
Design
Taking from all of our research and original personas we were able to create a fun and bright mood board. We decided that this design best reflects the feeling that we’re trying to invoke of inclusivity and friendliness in a safe and thriving environment. These stand-out yellows serve as a sunny contrast against our bold black font to look like a textbook. This also served as inspiration for our midfi wireframes.
